A few others really own the stage – especially Crystal Bowersox, but I don’t see her style of music winning, though she is amazing. Overall I’m afraid this top twenty is pretty weak. I still can’t imagine a very promising top ten, but it’s early.

American Idol: Chicago Auditions

Shania Twain joins the judging panel tonight in Chicago. I’m not sure why Shania is the choice for Chicago – apparently Oprah was busy. In a super cheesy opener, Idol attempted to connect the hope of their show’s contestants with Barack Obama’s historic victory. Idol occasionally gets a bit to big for their collective britches.
